If you’ve been following our blog you’ll know that so far we’ve had a chance to revise our basic ice dance steps and two of our Entry level Ice Dances, Canasta Tango and Rhythm Blues. Phew! But now it’s time to dear Ice Skaters, to feel the burn.
Today we have an excellent follow-along video from one of our former Ice Dance students. From International Ice Dance competitor to successful Pilates studio owner and instructor, Lindsey Woolstencroft has a uniquely deep understanding of which exercises target areas Ice Dancers need.
You’ll feel the burn, but you’ll love what it does for your Ice Skating
Lindsey’s exercises are fab for targeting stability for twizzles, leg extensions and improving posture.
This video has been on our YouTube Channel for a while and was originally made to help our competitive Squad, and now is a great opportunity to share the benefits with you!
To follow along, you’ll need a stop watch to time your exercise and maybe an exercise mat. Remember, control and good form are more important than speed or big range of movement.
We’ll be adding more suggested workout videos on our Useful Videos for Skaters Playlist. So check it out and give your body a tune up ready for when the rinks re-open!
