This Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected and used when you visit IceSkating.London, contact us, or book services through the website.
1. Who we are
IceSkating.London is operated by Marika Baranova, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Marika Baranova is the data controller for personal information processed directly in connection with the operation of IceSkating.London and her own coaching services.
For privacy or data protection enquiries, please contact:
Email: marika@iceskating.london
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with IceSkating.London, personal information may include:
your name and contact details;
information you provide when making or managing a coaching booking;
information contained in emails or other correspondence with us;
information required to process payments;
technical information generated when you use the website, such as information associated with cookies and similar technologies.
IceSkating.London does not currently maintain a separate customer database or coaching-record database outside the services used to manage bookings, payments and ordinary business correspondence.
3. How we collect your information
Email enquiries
“Enquire” links on the website allow you to contact us by email. The website does not currently use an online enquiry form to collect this information.
If you email us, we will receive the information you choose to include in your message together with information ordinarily associated with email correspondence, such as your email address.
Coaching bookings
Bookings for Marika Baranova are managed using Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity Scheduling). Information necessary to arrange and manage your booking is provided through that service.
Some coaches featured on IceSkating.London operate independently. If you select an independent coach, you may be directed to that coach’s own separate booking account. See section 7 below.
Payments
Payments for Marika Baranova’s coaching services are processed using Square. Payment information is handled through Square’s payment services. IceSkating.London does not independently store your full payment-card details.
Website use
Squarespace, which hosts IceSkating.London, may process technical information necessary to provide, secure and operate the website and its services.
The website may also contain embedded third-party media, including music-related content associated with SlipStep. Interaction with embedded content may result in information being processed by the provider of that content.
Further information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in our separate Cookie Policy.

communicate with you about your booking or coaching services;
operate, maintain and secure the website;
comply with legal, accounting or regulatory obligations;
establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.
Under UK data protection law, the lawful basis will depend upon the particular use of the information.
In most cases, information relating to enquiries, bookings and coaching services is processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you.
Some information may be processed because we have a legitimate interest in operating and protecting the business and website, provided that those interests do not override your rights and interests.
Where information must be retained to comply with a legal obligation, it will be processed on that basis.
Where consent is required—for example, for certain non-essential cookies or similar technologies—we will rely on your consent.
5. Marketing
IceSkating.London does not currently operate an email marketing mailing list.
Email addresses supplied for enquiries or bookings will not be added to a promotional mailing list simply because you have contacted us or booked a coaching service.
We may contact you where reasonably necessary in connection with your enquiry, booking or the services you have requested. These service communications are separate from marketing communications.
6. Service providers
We use third-party services to operate the website and provide our services. These currently include:

These providers may process personal information in accordance with their own contractual and legal obligations.
The website may also use third-party services to provide embedded media. Details relevant to cookies and similar technologies are explained in our Cookie Policy.
7. Independent coaches featured on IceSkating.London

These coaches are not employees or business partners of Marika Baranova solely because they are featured on IceSkating.London.
Where you choose to book an independent coach, you may be directed to that coach’s own separate Squarespace Scheduling/Acuity Scheduling account. Personal information that you provide directly through that coach’s booking system is handled by that coach and their relevant service providers.
You should refer to the privacy information provided by the independent coach where applicable.
8. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, accounting and regulatory requirements.
The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information concerned.
Routine correspondence that is no longer required may be deleted when it no longer serves a business or legal purpose.
Booking, transaction and accounting information may need to be retained for longer where necessary for tax, accounting, contractual or legal purposes.
