IceSkating.London Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to coaching services booked directly through the IceSkating.London online booking system. Please read them before making a booking.
By completing a booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
1. About IceSkating.London
IceSkating.London is operated by Marika Baranova, sole trader, in England.
Contact: marika@iceskating.london
These Terms apply only to coaching services provided by IceSkating.London.
Other independent coaches may be featured or linked from the IceSkating.London website. Where you follow a link to an independent coach’s separate booking account, your booking is made with that coach and their own prices, booking terms and privacy arrangements apply.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
Client means the person making and paying for the booking.
Skater means the person participating in the coaching session or class. The Client and Skater may be the same person.
Coach means the professional providing the booked coaching service.
Venue means the third-party ice rink at which coaching takes place.
Venue Provider means the organisation responsible for operating the Venue.
Personal Coaching Session means coaching reserved exclusively for the Skater or Skaters included in one booking.
Class means a group coaching session in which places are booked individually.
Public Session means an ice-skating session made available to the general public by the Venue Provider.
Patch Ice means restricted training ice for eligible Skaters who satisfy the Venue Provider’s requirements.
3. Making a booking
Available Personal Coaching Sessions and Classes can be booked online using the IceSkating.London booking system.
A booking is confirmed when the required payment has been successfully completed and a booking confirmation has been issued.
Please check your booking confirmation carefully, including the date, time, service and Coach where applicable.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information so that booking-related communications can reach you.
4. Prices, payment and online booking
The total price of each Personal Coaching Session or Class is displayed before you complete your booking. Payment is required at the time of booking.
The displayed total price includes a £1 online booking and reservation fee. This covers costs associated with creating and administering the reservation through our online booking service.
The £1 fee forms part of the total price shown to you. It is not added later at checkout and is not a payment-card surcharge. It does not vary according to the eligible payment method or card used.
Where you choose to cancel a booking, the £1 online booking and reservation fee will normally be retained towards costs already incurred in creating and processing that reservation, subject to your statutory rights.
Where IceSkating.London cancels your booking or cannot provide the booked service, the £1 fee will also be refunded.
5. Rescheduling
You may reschedule an eligible booking without charge until 48 hours before its scheduled start time, using the Reschedule link provided with your booking confirmation.
Rescheduling an existing eligible booking does not incur another online booking and reservation fee.
Once fewer than 48 hours remain before the scheduled start time, online rescheduling is no longer available.
6. Cancellation more than 48 hours before your booking
You may cancel an eligible booking online until 48 hours before its scheduled start time, using the cancellation link provided with your booking confirmation.
Where you cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, the coaching or class element of your payment will be refunded.
The £1 online booking and reservation fee will normally be retained towards costs already incurred in creating and processing the reservation.
If you simply wish to change the date or time, you can use the free Reschedule facility rather than cancelling and making a new booking.
7. Late cancellations and missed appointments
Online cancellation and rescheduling close 48 hours before the scheduled start time.
If you are unable to attend after this point, please contact your Coach as soon as reasonably possible using the contact details provided with your booking.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time are normally non-refundable. Your booking has reserved limited coaching or class capacity which has been unavailable for other Clients to book and may not reasonably be capable of being filled at short notice.
If the cancelled Personal Coaching Session or Class place is subsequently booked and paid for by another Client before its scheduled start time, the coaching or class element of your payment will be refunded. The £1 online booking and reservation fee will normally be retained.
Where a refund becomes due under this section, it will be processed within 7 days after the scheduled date of the cancelled Personal Coaching Session or Class. Your payment provider may require additional time to return the funds to your account.
Missed appointments where no notice of cancellation is given are non-refundable.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
8. Cooling-off period for online bookings
Personal Coaching Sessions and Classes are leisure services booked for a specific date and time. The usual 14-day cancellation right which applies to some online purchases does not apply to these bookings.
Your cancellation and rescheduling arrangements are instead set out above.
This does not affect any other statutory rights you may have.
9. Cancellation or changes by IceSkating.London
Occasionally a Coach may become unavailable because of illness, injury, emergency or another circumstance which prevents them from providing the booked service.
We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible after becoming aware of the problem.
If a Personal Coaching Session cannot be provided by the booked Coach, you may be offered a suitably qualified alternative Coach where one is available. You are not required to accept a replacement Coach.
If your booked Personal Coaching Session cannot be provided as agreed, you may choose to reschedule the affected session at no additional charge or receive a full refund of the amount paid to IceSkating.London, including the online booking and reservation fee.
If IceSkating.London is unable to provide a booked Class, you may choose to transfer the value of the affected Class to an appropriate future Class, where available, or receive a full refund, including the online booking and reservation fee.
10. Venue closure or cancellation of ice
IceSkating.London provides coaching at a third-party Venue and does not control the operation or availability of the Venue or its ice sessions.
The Venue Provider may occasionally close the rink, cancel a skating session or make the ice unavailable because of technical problems, emergencies, safety concerns or other operational circumstances outside IceSkating.London’s reasonable control.
If this prevents us from providing your booked Personal Coaching Session or Class, you may choose to reschedule the affected booking at no additional charge or receive a full refund of the amount paid to IceSkating.London for that booking, including the online booking and reservation fee.
Rink admission, skate hire, parking and other services purchased directly from the Venue Provider or another third party are separate purchases. Any refund or remedy relating to those purchases should be requested from the organisation from which they were purchased.
11. Venue admission and Client responsibility
Unless expressly stated otherwise, rink admission is not included in your coaching booking.
Clients are responsible for obtaining the correct Venue admission or ice-session ticket required for the Skater’s Personal Coaching Session or Class.
Please secure the appropriate ice-session ticket before booking coaching. IceSkating.London cannot guarantee the availability of tickets supplied by the Venue Provider.
If a Skater cannot attend because they have not obtained the correct admission, have booked the wrong session, arrive too late to access the session, or admission has sold out, the normal cancellation and rescheduling terms apply.
All Clients and Skaters must comply with the Venue Provider’s rules.
If the Venue Provider refuses admission to, removes or suspends a Client or Skater because of that person’s conduct or failure to comply with its rules, IceSkating.London is not responsible for the resulting inability to attend the booking and the normal cancellation terms apply.
Any dispute concerning a Venue Provider’s decision to refuse, remove or suspend a person should be raised directly with the Venue Provider.
12. Safety and the nature of ice skating
Ice skating is a physical activity involving inherent risks, including falls, loss of balance and collisions with other skaters or objects.
Clients and Skaters should take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others, follow appropriate instructions given by their Coach and comply with the Venue Provider’s safety rules.
IceSkating.London and its Coaches will provide coaching with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Fitness and safe participation
Skaters are responsible for considering whether they are fit to participate in ice skating.
If a Skater has an injury, medical condition or other circumstance that may affect their ability to participate safely, they should seek appropriate professional advice where necessary and tell their Coach about any relevant limitation the Coach reasonably needs to know in order to adapt the session safely.
The Coach may modify an activity, require a Skater to take a break, or stop participation where the Coach reasonably considers this necessary to protect the health or safety of the Skater or another person.
This may include circumstances where a Skater becomes unwell, injured, excessively cold or distressed, or otherwise appears unable to continue safely.
14. Safety instructions and conduct
Skaters must pay reasonable attention to their Coach and follow safety-related instructions.
A Coach may stop a particular activity, pause a session or end a Skater’s participation where the Skater repeatedly or seriously disregards safety instructions or behaves in a way that creates an unreasonable risk to themselves or another person.
Where a Personal Coaching Session or Class has to be shortened or ended because of circumstances relating to the Skater which prevent them from continuing safely, and this has not resulted from a failure by IceSkating.London or the Coach to exercise reasonable care and skill, this does not automatically entitle the Client to a refund or replacement session.
Any credit, rescheduling or other arrangement offered in such circumstances will depend on the individual circumstances.
Where participation is ended because of serious or repeated unsafe behaviour, refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions or another material breach by the Client or Skater, no refund will normally be due for the affected Personal Coaching Session or Class.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
15. Children and supervision
Where the Skater is under 18, the Client making the booking must be an adult who has authority to arrange the coaching on the Skater’s behalf.
Children who are not sufficiently experienced or independent to attend the skating session without adult supervision must have a parent or responsible adult remain rinkside and readily available throughout the Personal Coaching Session or Class.
The Coach may require a parent or responsible adult to remain rinkside where reasonably considered necessary because of the Skater’s age, experience, level of independence or other relevant safety considerations.
Parents and responsible adults who are not participating in the session are not required to go onto the ice unless specifically agreed with the Coach.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children arrive appropriately dressed and equipped for ice-rink conditions.
If a child becomes unwell, excessively cold, distressed or otherwise unable to continue safely, the Coach may pause or end their participation and return the child to the care of their parent or responsible adult.
16. Personal belongings
Clients and Skaters are responsible for their personal belongings while at the Venue.
IceSkating.London is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings unless caused by IceSkating.London’s negligence or breach of its legal obligations.
17. The Venue Provider
The Venue is operated independently from IceSkating.London.
IceSkating.London does not control the Venue Provider’s premises, facilities, employees or operational decisions and is not responsible for loss or damage caused by the Venue Provider where IceSkating.London has not caused or contributed to that loss or damage.
This does not limit IceSkating.London’s responsibility for its own coaching services or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Service-specific conditions
The following conditions apply in addition to the general Terms above.
18. Personal Coaching Sessions on Public Sessions
Personal Coaching Sessions on Public Sessions take place on non-exclusive ice which is also being used by other members of the public.
A Personal Coaching Session may be purchased for one Skater. Additional Skater places may be purchased through the booking system where available, to a maximum of four Skaters in one Personal Coaching Session.
All participating Skaters must be included in the booking and any applicable additional-Skater fees paid before the session. A person who has not been included in the booking may not participate in the coaching session.
Each participating Skater must have the appropriate Public Session admission. Admission and skate hire are purchased separately from the Venue Provider and are not included in the coaching price.
19. Personal Coaching Sessions on Patch Ice
Patch Ice is restricted training ice and is not open to general public skating.
Clients should book a Personal Coaching Session on Patch Ice only where the Skater has already satisfied the Venue Provider’s requirements for Patch access.
These requirements may include appropriate skating competency, membership, a Patch waiver or verification by an authorised resident coach, and ongoing professional coaching requirements.
Eligibility for and continued access to Patch Ice is determined by the Venue Provider and/or its authorised resident coaches rather than by IceSkating.London.
Skaters must have their own suitable skates because hire skates are not available on Patch Ice.
The appropriate Patch Ice session must be booked separately with the Venue Provider and is not included in the coaching price.
20. Advanced Adult Classes
Advanced Adult Classes are restricted-access group coaching sessions for a maximum of four Skaters.
Before booking, a Skater must meet the competency requirements stated for the Class or have been approved to attend by the Coach.
If you are unsure whether you meet the required standard, please contact the Coach before booking. A competency assessment may be arranged where appropriate. Any rink admission required for an assessment must be purchased separately by the Skater.
Class tuition is shared between participating Skaters. The Coach will manage the session according to the needs of the group and individual Skaters, so equal amounts of individual coaching time cannot be guaranteed.
21. Restricted-access booking links
Certain services, including Personal Coaching Sessions on Patch Ice and Advanced Adult Classes, may be accessed through booking links which are not publicly listed.
These links are provided to eligible Skaters for their personal use and should not be shared.
Possession of or access to a restricted booking link does not establish eligibility to use the service. Each Skater must independently satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements before booking.
If you receive a restricted booking link but are unsure whether you meet the relevant requirements, please contact IceSkating.London before making a booking.
IceSkating.London may cancel a booking made through a restricted link where the Skater does not meet the applicable eligibility requirements. The coaching or class element will be refunded, but the £1 online booking and reservation fee will normally be retained towards costs already incurred in processing the reservation.
Where IceSkating.London has incorrectly confirmed that the Skater is eligible to book, a cancellation resulting from that error will receive a full refund, including the £1 fee.
22. Personal information
Personal information provided in connection with enquiries and bookings is handled in accordance with the IceSkating.London Privacy Policy.
Information about cookies and similar technologies used on the IceSkating.London website is provided in our Cookie Policy.

Nothing in these Terms restricts any statutory remedy to which you are entitled.
24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example where our services, booking arrangements, Venue requirements or applicable laws change.
The Terms applying to a booking are those made available to you when that booking was made.
Changes to these Terms will apply to future bookings and will not retrospectively alter the Terms applying to an existing booking.
The date at the top of this document shows when these Terms were last updated.
